Greetings From the Editor
I am delighted to invite you to the special issue of The Living Pulpit that has just come out. Ordinarily, I would say about a good book that you should go to a bookstore, but I would tell you to run to get a copy of it. A downloadable .pdf version is on our site under Archives (or [download id=”6537″]), and we have a small number of print issues that are available while they last.
After having gone through a period of hibernation, we offer this first of our relaunch issues exploring new insights into preaching ministry while continuing the long-standing tradition of this journal that seeks to stimulate the ministry of proclamation.
The primary theme of this issue delves into what it means to profess that the Word of the Lord is a lamp that illumines our path in the journey of faith. Preachers are joined in this issue by biblical scholars and practitioners of Bible ministry in many parts of the world.
The feature articles are based on the presentations delivered in the Annual New York Theological Seminary Conference held on Oct. 17, 2011. The banner theme of the conference was Bible Engagement, a fresh concept that American Bible Society has lifted up in light of its commitment to making the Bible not only available but also applicable in the life of Christians and others. Presenters challenged the churches to engage the Bible in their mission, and their contribution has been revised to speak to the immediate needs of our readers and audience. These articles will point us in the direction of empowerment that comes from the word of the Lord in the Bible.
I am sure you will agree with us that this journal has an important place in the ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ. This relaunch issue is a fruit of labor of love of many who gave their time and passion so generously. I am eternally grateful to the new production team that is now in place to continue the beloved ministry of The Living Pulpit: Gail Davis, Nicole Duncan-Smith, Henry Shaw, Wilson Thomas, and Janet Yoon.
We welcome your membership and participation in any matter you feel led by the Holy Spirit. We depend for support on many faithful who share our vision and commitment. Please visit www.pulpit.org for details for subscriptions. Free trial subscriptions are available until June 30, 2012, so that you can come and celebrate with us the relaunch of The Living Pulpit for the enrichment of the life and memory of the church.
In Christ,

Dear Friends, I’m having trouble finding the pdf file on the website to download it. Please advise. Great to see a new issue produced. I recently purchased a subscription and am looking forward to the new issue.
Thank you for help!
Bill Hennessy
Mr. Hennessy,
Thank you for your comment.
There were production problems getting the PDF shrunk down small enough to post on the web site. On Monday night (February 13) we ended up posting two versions of the document: one that is of high quality and suitable for reading and printing, while the second is more suitable for research with text search and copy capabilities.
The two versions can be accessed from the article above and from the ‘Archives’ selection in the navigation bar at the top of each page.

Mr. Hennessy,
Our production techniques have been revamped and we have now posted a single version of the publication that is suitable for reading and searching.
With warmest regards,
