She currently serves as the first woman President of New York Theological Seminary where she is committed to preparing faith and thought leaders to engage relevant, restorative, and revolutionary ministry. Dr. Walrond earned a B.A. from Spelman College; M.A., M.S.A., and Ph.D. from UNC-Chapel Hill; and an M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary.
