A New Beginning II by Piety Choi.

This is “A New Beginning II,” a revision of my earlier work under the same title. It is a somewhat large piece for which I used acrylic on the canvas. I wanted to present a lucid image of larvae, which had emerged from chrysalis and are now being transformed into butterflies. Flowers and butterflies never fail to inspire me with joy, happiness, and peace. They seem to nurture life in each other, forming a convivial community. I wanted to depict beauty in that mutually sustaining relationship. Isn't that also the prayer embedded in Isaiah's vision of the peaceable kingdom? I am sure it is. —Piety Choi
