A Stone on the Rockby Piety Choi.
(16"x16"; with sand and acrylic on the canvas of the Korean traditional paper)
In this painting, the sand recalls our root of humanity of dust and ashes. We are the pebbles God created and placed in this universe. God made the world wondrously and filled it with flowers, which, though so beautiful, soon pass away. The rock represents our God, who sustains us with steadfast love. Please look at how the rock is positioned. It connects us with all creatures, so that we may see the reflection of God in everyone and everything that is created.—Piety Choi
